35 Easy Easter basket ideas for tweens and teens

Easter baskets are really fun to put together for little kids and let’s be honest, it’s pretty easy. Assembling them for older kids gets a little trickier to know what they’d love to get. Here are some Easter basket ideas for tweens and teens that they’ll love.

Gift Cards

These are easy and kids really appreciate them. When I was asking adolescents what they most wanted to see in their Easter baskets, gift cards were consistently the first answer.

Movie theater gift card
Gift card to their favorite fast-food restaurant – Whether they love Chipotle, Starbucks, Panera (all of which were on a recent list of top restaurants most popular with teens) or somewhere else, the Easter Bunny knows that the way to teen’s heart is through the stomach.
iTunes gift card – Music is huge for adolescents, and this makes it easy for them to get more of their favorite tunes.
Amazon gift card, so they can get whatever they want/need, and they have some cute Easter-themed options.
Or cash. Put a few dollars or varying bill amounts in Easter eggs

Toys

Believe it or not, your kids still like things they can play with in their basket. Here are a few fun options:

Bunny Popper (get these for a few family members and they can have a playful popper battle
Pooping Easter Bunny – because bathroom humor never gets old
Slime in an Easter Egg – I know, I know, you’ve had more slime in your life lately to last you through eternity, but Easter slime is kind of cool
Card Games – Not Parent Approved is a fun one
Stress Ball – Teens can feel a lot of anxiety, and a stress ball can help. Fidget spinners are still pretty popular, too.

Electronics

Keeping them fully powered and connected to their music are both true gifts.

Portable charger (this one comes in fun colors)
Headphones (these wireless, sweatproof headphones would be especially good for teens who work out a lot)
Phone case
Smartphone Projector – They won’t be expecting this one, which is a bit pricier but definitely could be fun.
Pop Socket – These are still pretty trendy and your kid may be ready for another one, or you can use two in the back of the phone and wrap headphones around the two. You can find one with their Hogwarts house, their favorite team, a dabbing unicorn, an Easter theme, or anything else that fits their personality.
Portable Speakers – Chicks are commonly found at Easter, but not commonly found as portable speakers, like the one above. There are a lot of other animals, some with super cute names like the Owl Capella, that are worth checking out, and there are non-animal options, too, of course.
3D Pen – This could be a fun splurge that encourages creativity. Don’t forget the filament.

Warm Weather Gear

Sunglasses
Pool membership – My teen is getting her own membership to our park district pool/beach – the one where the teens hang out. The early bird pricing on a youth member was really reasonable at $40 for the whole summer. The fact that it’s her own membership and not a family one is part of the gift.
Flip flops
Beach towel – My teen reports that Sand Cloud is super trendy, but spending $44 for a beach towel is certainly not a choice that works for everyone.
Silly float – An inflatable unicorn or flamingo pool float is whimsical and a lot of fun.

Candy

You can never go wrong with your kids’ favorite candy and there’s an Easter version of pretty much anything now. If you want to save a bit, though, go with the regular version. (The Mariano’s grocery store near me had a half-off sale on candy today.) Chances are your kids won’t care. If you want to stick with the theme, here are some fun Easter-themed items.

Bag of Bunny Farts Cotton Candy – See above about bathroom humor never getting old.
Bunny Ears – Forget eating the whole chocolate bunny, stick with the delicious ears.
Peeps – Because why not?

Water bottle – S’well water bottles are really popular among girls and while not cheap, they do hold up well and come in an array of colors that are perfect for Easter
Silly socks
Jewelry and other accessories – When I asked my teen’s friends, they offered up bracelets and earrings as suggestions
Scrunchies – Yup, they’re back! Neutrals are good because they go with everything, but my teen says school colors are fun for spirit and game days, too. And the combo scrunchie/hair scarf is also really popular this year.
