How the Luana Lounge at Aulani helps maximize your vacation time

Table of Contents

When you travel to Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa in Hawaii, you’ll want to maximize your time in paradise. The Luana Lounge lets you do just that – making it possible to seize every moment of fun in Hawaii. Taking advantage of it allowed us to enjoy our last day of our trip.

When do you use the Luana Lounge at Aulani?

If you arrive before check-in time and your room is not ready, or if you need to check out but your flight isn’t until later, you leave your luggage at Bell Services and get a pass for the Luana Lounge.  You can use it to change, shower, safely store purses and valuables and just hang out until your room is ready or it’s time for you to head out.

How did it help us maximize vacation time?

My family used it on departure day. Our flight wasn’t until late afternoon, but check out was at 11 a.m. In the morning, we packed our suitcases for travel home and left them with Bell Services. We kept the clothes that we planned to wear on the plane in a small bag that we kept with us. We had on our swimsuits and cover ups. At the front desk, we got keys to the Luana Lounge.

We headed there and put my purse and the bag with our clothes in a locker. They had keys to the lockers on wristlets.

With our stuff safely stashed, we headed to the beach. We grabbed lunch of coconut shrimp and a shave ice, then made the most of the pools, water slides, and a final lazy river ride. After that, we returned to the Luana Lounge to get clean and dressed for our flight. The three of us even had a minute to stop and say hello to Daisy Duck on our way out.

What’s in the Luana Lounge?

There are two separate areas. The one you enter has couches and a television. The Aulani website says that there is a computer but we didn’t see it. The Pau Hana Community Room next door had a couple computers, though, if you wanted to print out your boarding pass.

There are men’s and women’s locker rooms where you can find restrooms, showers, and lockers. I loved that there was a water extractor for swim suits, making them much easier to take home.

The showers had shampoo, conditioner, and shower gels, and there are plenty of towels. There was also a hair dryer. It was great for getting the salt water and chlorine out and making it possible for us to head to the airport squeaky clean.Luana Lounge at Aulani, a Disney Resort in HawaiiWhere Is It?

Luana Lounge is located next door to Pau Hana Community Hall on the Ewa Tower end of Waikolohe Valley.

It is worth noting that users of Luana Lounge don’t have unlimited in and out privileges. You could only use your pass to get in twice – once to leave your things and another time to retrieve them.

We really loved that this made our last day feel like a full day of vacation instead of just a rushed morning. It also left a bit spoiled. When we visited another resort a few months later and had to wait for our room to be ready, I asked at the front desk that if they had any facilities for changing. When I was met with a blank stare, I thought, “I really miss Aulani and the Luana Lounge.”
