Favorite sweet Christmas commercials of 2018

Table of Contents

Pass the Kleenex, friends, because the Christmas commercials are out and they are tugging at my heartstrings in a big way. It’s fascinating to me that they remind us what really matters in life, while also trying to get us to buy things. Here are some of my favorite sweet Christmas commercials of 2018.

This one from Europe shows how music and movement transcends generations and unites us.

Moms of adolescent girls will really appreciate this commercial about a mother-daughter relationship from Boots, a drugstore in the UK.  For being known for their “stiff upper lip,” the British are great at making holiday ads that make me teary.

This animated commercial is the longest, but it showcases some incredible creativity. It’s the most applicable to teens who have talents but also insecurities that make it hard to share their creations with the world. I confess that I’m excited to be in a car when the windows fog up so I can try the glasses trick she did.

If you’re wondering how they made this one, there’s a video showing the creative process behind it here.

As an American, I have no idea what John Lewis & Partners actually does, but I do know they do a great job with holiday commercials. This year is no exception and this one featuring Elton John illustrates how one gift can have a huge impact.

This animated commercial featuring a hedgehog trying to fit in at a new school is very sweet. It’s for Erste Bank, which is in Hungary.

If you have a commercial that you’e loved this year, please share in the comments!
