Table of Contents

I’m seeing so many Day of the Dead  items as we draw closer to the end of October, and each time is reminds me that the Disney-Pixar movie Coco, which is based on the concept of Day of the Dead. The excitement is building and to tide us over, Disney-Pixar just released a new clip and featurette from the movie. See both below.

Abuelita is a force to be reckoned with in this clip:

To see how it fits into the plot of Coco, here’s a summary from Disney-Pixar:

Despite his family’s baffling generations-old ban on music, Miguel (voice of newcomer Anthony Gonzalez) dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz (voice of Benjamin Bratt). Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector (voice of Gael García Bernal), and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history.

Making the film is a story in and of itself, and thankfully they’re sharing, too, in this “Crafting Coco” featurette:

The good news is that we only have wait for one more month as Coco opens in theaters everywhere on November 22nd, just in time for Thanksgiving weekend so you can see it with the whole family.
